Caryn B. Resnick was appointed as Deputy Commissioner to the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA) on August 26, 2002. Ms. Resnick has more than 25 years of experience and leadership in the field of aging and is nationally recognized as an advocate on senior issues, serving as a delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Aging and as an advisor to the New York State Assembly Committee on Aging.

Prior to joining DFTA, Ms. Resnick was the Executive Director of Family and Community Services Inc. (FCS), a not-for-profit organization providing a range of services to families and individuals of all ages and backgrounds in Eastchester, New York. Ms. Resnick additionally served as the Executive Director of the Caring Community, a social service agency serving the elderly of Greenwich Village and Lower Manhattan, and as Director of JPAC for Older Adults at the Jewish Association for Services for the Aged (JASA).

Ms. Resnick received her MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work and a Certificate in Not-for-Profit Management from the Columbia University School of Business in 1994.
